Introduction
This report concerns acceptance of a bid of $34,100.00 for City-
owned real estate located at the westerly corner of Strand Street
and Neilson Way. The area is approximately 2773 square feet.
A sketch is attached. This property is the remaining portion of
a lot purchased to effect the widening of Neilson Way and for which
the Staff foresees no future need by the City.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids for this property,
bids were received and publicly opened and read in the office of
the City Manager July 10, 1978. Proposal packets were mailed to
twenty -six (26) potential buyers and notices were advertised in
accordance with city charter and municipal bid provisions. The
highest sealed bid received was $12,113.00. Following the bid
opening, and auction was conducted with the minimum opening bid
established at $13,325.00. The highest bid received at auction
was that of Dr. Emanuel V. Feigin in the amount of $34,100.00.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid of Dr. Emanuel V. Feigin, in the
amount of $34,100.00, be accepted.
