SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for electric pump motors.
Bid No. 1343.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for three (3) electric well
pump motors in the total amount of $9,491,24, including applicable
tax. $7,548.26 of this amount will be charged to Job Order 76550-
000, Repair of Primary Pumping Equipment, and $1,942,98 will be
charged to Job Order 76580 -000, Repair and Maintenance of Wells,
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were re-
ceived and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager
March 7, 1978, Proposal forms were mailed to twenty -three (2.3)
electric motor dealers and manufacturers and notices were advertised
in accordance with city charter and municipal code provisions, Five
(5) proposals were received as listed on the attached summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Aurora Pump, as the lowest
and best bidder, in the total amount of $9,491.24, including tax.
