SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for shop equipment,-)E /U/
Bid No. 1339.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one (1) box and pan brake
in the amount of $3,245.20 including tax. Funds are available in
account number 01- 500 - 451 - 000 -950 (Public Facilities Maintenance
Capital Outlay).
Background
The brake specified is capable of bending or forming 16 -gauge stain-
less steel or 12 -gauge mild steel in widths up to 48 inches.
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, proposals were re-
ceived and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager
February 23, 1978. Proposal forms were mailed to seventeen (17)
machinery dealers and notices were advertised in accordance with
city charter and municipal code provisions. Three (3) bids were
received as listed on the attached summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Meyer Machinery Company,
as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of $3,245.20, in-
cluding tax.
