Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and install
approximately seventeen hundred seventy five (1775) reflectorized
pavement markers in the total amount of $6,112.25, including
applicable tax. Funds are available in account 01- 500 -413- 000 -401,
Traffic Sign and Striping Division Special Department Supplies.
The initial budget for this account was $90,420.00.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
install reflectorized traffic markers in accordance with specifica-
tions supplied, bids were received and publicly opened and read in
the office of the City Manager February 21, 1978. Proposal forms
were mailed to sixteen (16) potential bidders and notices were
advertised in accordance with city charter and municipal code
provisions. Two (2) proposals were received as listed on the
attached schedule.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Traffic Appliance
Corporation, as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount
of $6,112.25, including tax.
