Recommendation to award bid for automobile.

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one (1) current model compact
four -door sedan in the total amount of $5,152.64 including applicable
tax. Funds are budgeted in account number 01 -100- 222 - 000 -950,
Finance Department Capital Outlay.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, one (1) bid was
received and publicly opened and read in the office of the City
Manager November 8, 1977. Proposal packages were mailed to twenty -
four (24) automobile dealers and notice were advertised in accor-
dance with city charter and municipal code provisions. The bid of
Claude Short Dodge offered a 1978 Dodge Aspen, equipped per City
Specifications, for $4,860.98 plus $291.66 sales tax. Total price
is $5,152.64.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Claude Short Dodge, the
sole bidder, in the total amount of $5,152.64.
