SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for printing services
Bid No. 1443.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish printing services as
ordered by the City during the period July 1, 1979 through June 30, 1980,
in an amount estimated not to exceed $20,000.00. Individual orders, when
received, will be charged to requisitioning departments' printed form
(411) account,.
Background
In response to published "Notice Inviting Bids' to supply printing and
related bindery services as detailed in the proposal, bids were received
and publicly opened and read May 1, 1979, Proposal packages were mailed
to forty (40) printing establishments in the Santa Monica bay area and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and Municipal
Code provisions, Three (3) bids were received; Copy Kat Printers,
EZ Print, and Haskell Printing Company, Comparison of the proposals as
to each item indicated:

In order to provide a realistic comparison for a typical printing order,
twenty -five (25) orders placed with the current printer during the period
August 23, 1978 through May 3, 1979, were selected at random and were
priced in accordance with the individual bid proposals received,

Recommendation
