SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for reroofing buildings.
Bid No. 1459.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid, in the total amount of $16,500.00,
for reroofing City Yard buildings and the Fire Department Drill Tower.
The total area is in excess of eleven thousand (11,000) square feet.
$15,675.00 will be charged to account number 01- 500 - 451 - 000 -501
(Public Facilities Maintenance Contractural Services) and $825.00 will
be charged to account number 84- 300 - 311 - 000 -322 (Maintenance of Drill
Tower).
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to reroof structures
located in the City Yards in accordance with specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read June 5, 1979. Proposal packages
were mailed to thirty (30) roofing companies and notices were advertised
in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three
(3) bids were received as listed on the attached Summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to T.E. Harms Roofing Con-
tractor, as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of
$16,500,00, including tax.
