SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for utility truck body.
Bid No. 1462.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one new utility truck body in the
total amount of $2,459.20, including applicable tax. This purchase will
be charged to account number 39- 800 -672- 110 -951, Water Department Capital
Outlay.
Background
This body will be mounted on a City supplied 7500 GVW truck chassis
purchased through the State of California cooperative purchasing system.
The body supplier also will install the hydraulic valve operator which is
being purchased separately. In response to published Notice Inviting Bids
to furnish and install the utility body in accordance with City specifica-
tions, bids were received and publicly opened and read June 14, 1979.
Proposal packages were mailed to ten (10) truck body builders and Notices
were published in accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Two (2) bids were received:

Royal Truck Bodies, Inc
Recommendation
$2,320.00 + $139.20 Tax = $2,459.20
Terms: Net
$4,998.00 + $299.88 Tax = $5,297.88
Terms: Net
It is recommended that the award be made to Servis- Likens Truck Equip-
ment, as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of $2,459.20,
including tax.
