SR-06-26-1979-6C-4 -303-017i JUN 2 6 1979 Santa Monica, California June 13, 1979 TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Award of Contract for Fence Construction and Renovation at Memorial and Los Amigos Parks Introduction This report recommends that the City Council award a contract for fence construction and renovation at Memorial Park and Los Amigos Park to the Santa Monica Fence Co. in the amount of $23,977. Background This project provides for the replacement and renovation of park perimeter and tennis court fencing at Los Amigos Park. The existing fencing is over 20 years old, is badly corroded, and is unsightly. At Memorial Park the outfield fencing and park perimeter fencing will also be replaced along Olympic Blvd. This fencing is between 15 and 22 years old. Bids for the subject project were opened in the City Council Chambers after 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 11, 1979, and read publicly by the City Clerk. Plans and specifications were issued to six General Contractors. Recommendation It is recommended that the subject contract be awarded to Santa Monica Fence Co., the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $23,977.
