SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for refuse bin parts.
Bid No. 1469.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $7,033.10,
including tax, for refuse bin parts. This purchase will be charged
to account number 80- 975 - 127 -000 -000, Refuse Bin Revolving Account.
Background
These parts are used in the repair of damaged two -yard containers at
the City Yards. In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to
furnish and deliver the container parts per specifications, bids were
received and publicly opened and read June 12, 1979. Proposals were
mailed to eight (8) steel fabricators and notices were published in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Three (3)
bids were received as listed on the attached Summary of Bids.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Cubic Container Manufacturers,
as the lowest and best bidder as to each item, in the total amount of
$7,033.10, including tax.
