SUBJECT: Recommendation to accept negotiated bid for beach equipment
rental concession.
Introduction
This report concerns acceptance of the highest bid received for the
beach equipment rental concession and authorizing the City Manager
to execute the lease agreement,
Background
Subsequent to the rejection at the last Council meeting of bids received
for the beach equipment rental concession per Resolution 5288 CCS, the
two (2) responsive bidders were given additional opportunities to bid.
The highest bid from each is:
K & D Beach Rentals - $11,000.00 plus ten per cent (10 %) plus five
per cent (5 %). Percentage increases are to
be applicable during the second and third
years of the lease.
Cap'tn Jim's
Beach Rentals - $12,253.25 plus percentage of change, annually,
in the Consumer Price Index .plus three per cent
(3 %). Percentage increases are to be applicable
during the second and third years of the lease.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid of Cap'tn Jim's Beach Rentals, in the
initial yearly amount of $12,253,25, be accepted as the highest and
best bid and that the City Manager be authorized to execute the lease
agreement on behalf of the City,
