SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for galvanized pipe and fittings.
Bid No. 1435.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $3,563.19 including
applicable tax, for galvanized pipe and fittings. The purchase has
been budgeted in Job Order account number 63060 -011, Ground Maintenance,
Charnock Well Field.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver
galvanized pipe and fittings in accordance with City Specifications,
bids were received and publicly opened and read April 3, 1979. Proposal
forms were mailed to twenty -four (24) potential suppliers and Notices
were advertised as required by City Charter and Municipal Code provisions.
Three (3) bids were received as listed on the attached Summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Valley Cities Supply Company,
as the lowest and best bidder, in the amount of $3,563.19, including tax.
