Introduction
This report concerns renewal, on behalf of the Transportation Department
of the license agreement with Southern California Rapid Transit District
for use of the bus terminal at Pico and Rimpau Boulevards, Los Angeles,
for the period March 1, 1979 through February 28, 1982. The cost will be
$32,083.92 ($891.22 per month) which will be paid from Transporation
General Operating Funds. A plat of subject property is attached.
Background
The agreement to be executed is identical in all respects with the
agreement in force from March 1, 1974 through February 28, 1979, with
the exception of the rental amount. The $891.22 monthly cost for the
new agreement represents the previous $622.50 monthly charge adjusted
upwards forty -three per cent (43 %) from change in the Consumer Price
Index between March 1974 and December 1978.
Recommendation
It is recommended that renewal of the bus terminal license agreement
be authorized by adoption of the attached resolution and that the
City Manager be authorized to execute this agreement on behalf of the
City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF THE
LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF THE PICO- RIMPAU
BUS TERMINAL
WHEREAS, the agreement with Southern California Rapid Transit
District for use of the Pico - Rimpau bus terminal expired February 28,
1979; and
WHEREAS, use of this terminal is necessary for use as a
passenger interchange point; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Rapid Transit District is
favorable to a renewal of the agreement for the period March 1, 1979
through February 28, 1982.
NOG1, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council finds that the need exists
to use the Pico- Rimpau Bus Terminal for an additional three -year period.
SECTION 2. That renewal of the license agreement with the
Southern California Rapid Transit is authorized.
SECTION 3. The City Manager, City of Santa Monica is
authorized to execute this agreement on behalf of the City.
