SUBJECT: Assignment of Pier Leases MAR 7 1979
Introduction
This report covers the assignment of the Fish 'n Chips lease of
Mr. Joseph Morris and the assignment of the Sea View Seafood
lease of Mr. Robert Morris to both be under the Corporation name
of Sea View Seafood, Inc., to be operated under common management.
Background
In order to operate both businesses jointly, thereby expanding
the services to be offered to the low income public on the Santa
Monica Pier, both the Fish 'n Chips Restaurant and the adjacent
fish market, Sea View Seafood, are being assigned to Sea View
Seafood, Inc. with the same lessees, Mr. Joseph Morris and Mr.
Robert Morris.
If this assignment is granted Mr. Joseph Morris will have an
interest in two businesses (Sea View Seafood and Fish 'n Chips)
and Mr. Robert Morris will have an interest in three Pier leases
( Sea View Seafood, Fish 'n Chips and Gladstone's 4 Fish).
Recommendation
It is the recommendation of City Staff that City Council approve
the assignment of both leases and direct the City Manager to
execute the appropriate documents.
