SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for electric motor starter.
Bid No. 1442.

Introduction
This report concerns award of bid in the amount of $4,061.12, including
tax, for one (1) electric motor starter to be installed at Charnock
Booster Number 5. Funds are budgeted in job account number 65200 -005,
Charnock Number 5 Installation, in the amount of $23,000.00.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and deliver a
motor starter for a 250 horesepower electric motor in accordance with
City specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
April 19, 1979. Proposal packages were mailed to twenty -seven (27)
prospective suppliers and notices were advertised in accordance with City
Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Four (4) bids were received as
listed.on the attached Summary of Bids.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Pacific Engineered Products,
Inc. as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of $4,061.12,
including tax.
