Introduction
This report concerns award of bid, in the amount of $10,519.61,
including applicable tax, for asbestos cement water pipe and
couplings. $5,230.21 is chargeable to account 64060 -000, Annual
Repair of Distribution Mains and $5,289.40 is chargeable to ac-
count 38- 955 - 200 - 000 -000, Water Department Inventory.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids to furnish and
deliver seven (7) items of asbestos cement water pipe and coup-
lings in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read in the office of the City Manager
November 15, 1977. Proposal forms were mailed to sixteen (16)
potential bidders and notices were advertised in accordance with
City Charter and municipal code provisions. Three (3) bids were
received as listed on the attached summary.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Taylor -Jett Company,
as the lowest and best bidder, in the total amount of $10,519.61.
