SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for stairway scaffold.
Bid No. 1321.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid for one (1) stairway scaffold
assembly in the total amount of $2,194.38, including applicable
sales tax. Funds are available in budget account 10- 400 - 621 -000-
950, Civic Auditorium Capital Outlay.
Background
This stairway scaffold assembly is an aluminum, folding, wheeled
structure with the top working platform thirty -one (31) feet from
the stage floor. Internal stairways provide access to the top
and intermediate working levels. Outriggers, safety rails and
toe boards are included.
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, five (5) proposals
as listed on the attached summary were received and publicly
opened and read in the office of the City Manager October 25, 1977.
Invitations were mailed to fifteen (15) scaffold companies and
notices were advertised in accordance with city charter and munic-
ipal code provisions.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award be made to Utilities Supply Co.,
the lowest and best bidder, in the amount of $2,194.38 including
tax.
