SUBJECT: Recommendation to award bid for stage lighting equipment.
Bid No. 1320.
Introduction
This report concerns award of bids to furnish and deliver fifty -
four (54) stage lights in the total amount of $10,492.52, including
applicable tax. This acquisition will be charged to the $13,366.00
budgeted in account 10- 400 - 621 - 000 -950, Civic Auditorium Capital
Outlay.
Background
In response to published Notice Inviting Bids, five (5) proposals
as listed on the attached summary were received and publicly opened
and read in the office of the City Manager October 25, 1977. Bid
packets were mailed to eighteen (18) theatrical equipment companies
and notices were advertised in accordance with city charter and
municipal code provisions.
The primary bid of Olesen Company for Item 3 offered a light of
lesser candlepower than specified and the bid of L.A. Stage Lighting
Company for Item 4 offered a smaller dimension light than specified.
In all instances, purchase is recommended of the lowest cost lights
meeting specifications.
