Agenda Item 6 -F: Presented at this time was the recommendation to accept
the bid of Mr. Timothy Sheppard for purchase of City -owned property locat-
ed at southeast corner of Fifth Street and Ocean Park Boulevard in the
amount of $20,200 (Bid No. 1332). Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the
buildability of the subject parcel and code provisions regulating bid
procedures for the sale of City property. Councilmember Trives moved
to accept- the.bid.of Mr..:Timothy.Sheppa.rd and award :contract Noi (CCS) --
for purchase of City -owned property located at the southeast corner of
Fifth Street and Ocean Park Boulevard in the amount of $20,200. Second
by Councilmember Scott.
Council Vote: Unanimously approved 7 -0

Introduction
This report concerns acceptance of the bid of twenty thousand two
hundred dollars ($20,200.00).for city -owned property located at
the southeast corner of Fifth Street and Ocean Park Boulevard.
This lot is approximately 2,143 square feet in size.
Background
This parcel was considered not essential to the future needs of
the City and was offered for sale through an Invitation to Bid
published in accordance with city charter and municipal code pro-
visions. Proposal packages were mailed to eight (8) Boards of
Realtors in the area and to adjacent property owners. Classified
advertising also was used to publicize this sale.
In response to the published Notice, sealed bids were received
and publicly opened and read in the Council Chamber December 28,
1977.
Two (2) sealed bids were received, the highest being thirteen
thousand five hundred dollars ($13,500.00). In accordance with
the auction procedure detailed in the proposal form, bids were
accepted from the floor starting at fourteen thousand eight
hundred fifty dollars ($14,850.00). Twenty -seven (27) ascending

bids were received and the bidding concluded with the offer of
twenty thousand two hundred dollars ($20,200.00) by Mr. Timothy
Sheppard.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the bid of twenty thousand two hundred
dollars ($20,200.00) made by Mr. Timothy Sheppard be accepted and
that sale of this property be authorized.
