A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA SETTING THE RATE FOR FOOD
TRUCKS ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2013 IN DESIGNATED BEACH LOTS FOR
GLOW
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica is hosting GLOW, on September
28, 2013, from 7pm to 3 am; and
WHEREAS, GLOW is a significant regional event that promotes Santa
Monica to the region; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized to set parking rates and
permit fees, by resolution, for the City's parking facilities and preferential
parking zones; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide access to services and parking
for participants on the night of the event and to recoup the costs of producing
the event; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. In order to properly manage the City's parking resources on
Saturday, September 28, 2013, it is in the best interest of the City to provide parking
designated areas of the beach lots for a select number of food trucks.
SECTION 2. Parking permits for food trucks shall be at a rate of $200 per truck
for the duration of the event in the designated area of the South Beach lots and the
1550 Lot.
SECTION 3. Persons with monthly permits entitling them to park in Lot 1S may
park in that Lot after sunset on September 28, 2013 but must remove their vehicles by
4:00 a.m. on September 29, 2013.
SECTION 4. Lots 4S and 5S will stay open for entry by the public until midnight
on September 28, 2013; but all vehicles must be removed by 4:00 a.m. on September
29, 2013.
SECTION 5.The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
