A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AND EXECUTE ALL
CALRECYCLE HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE GRANTS FOR WHICH THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA IS ELIGIBLE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Resources Code § 40000, the Department of
Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) has established various household
hazardous waste grant programs to make payments to qualifying jurisdictions for the
implementation of their household hazardous waste collection programs; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish
procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and
WHEREAS, CalRecycle's procedures for administering the grants requires,
among other things, an Applicant's governing body to declare by resolution certain
authorizations related to the administration of CalRecycle's grants.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The submittal of all grant applications to the Department of
Resources Recovery and Recycling for which the City of Santa Monica is eligible for a
period of five years from February 21, 2013 through February 21, 2018 is hereby
authorized.

SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee is hereby authorized, to execute in
the name of the City of Santa Monica all necessary applications, contracts, payment
requests, agreements and amendments thereto for the purposes of securing grant
funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in force and effect.
