A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1122
22nd STREET AS SURPLUS AND TO COMMENCE INVITING BIDS FOR THE SALE
OF REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the property located at 1122 22ND Street ( "Property ") was
bequeathed to the City of Santa Monica in or about 1994 by the Estate of Anna
Blackburn, with possessory interest to her caretaker, who has passed away; and
WHEREAS, the Property is not needed for City public purpose; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica Municipal Code (SMMC) Section 2.24.110 establishes
requirements for sale of City -owned real property, including public notices, presentation
of the bids to City Council, and City Council authority to accept bids or to reject all bids;
WHEREAS, the State of California Government Code Sections 54220 to 54232
establish requirements for the disposition of surplus land owned by local agencies,
including but not limited to a local agency's responsibility to make written offers to sell

the property to various state, county and local entities and a local agency's right to sell
the property at fair market value.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City -owned property located at 1122 22 "d Street in Santa
Monica is no longer needed for any City public purpose and is therefore considered
surplus property.
SECTION 2. The City is authorized to commence inviting bids for the sale of the
Property in accordance with SMMC Section 2.24.110 and California Government Code
Section 54222.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
