Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on February 28, 2013, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance amending Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 9.52.135 eliminating the
March 31, 2013 sunset provision in this section which permits businesses located within
the Main Street Commercial District to utilize a single portable sign to promote their
respective business, provided the sign meets specific requirements. The ordinance is
now presented to the City Council for adoption.
