regarding Public Works projects was presented.
Christine E. Reed spoke regarding the street lighting program.
Mr. Dituri moved to defer the widening of Montana Avenue
between 21st Street and 26th Street. The motion was seconded -by Mr. van
den Steenhoven and carried unanimously.
Mr. Trives moved to authorize the Administration to set up a
street lighting policy based on need of ecology data, crime data, etc. to
establish proper guide line priorities for street lighting. The motion
was seconded by Mrs. Swink and carried unanimously.
Mr. Dituri moved to refer the two proposals received to the
Administration for the selection of a company to perform the structural
analysis of the Municipal and Newcomb Piers as well as a report regarding
the number of City employees required to assist in the study with a
recommendation to the Council by July 24, 1973. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Trives and carried unanimously.
Mr. Vermont McKinney, Director, (Venice Drug Coalition, Inc.)
!,stated that the City of Los Angeles had funded the operation of the Venice -
'UCLA Drug Abuse Project and thanked the City Council of Santa Monica for
its interest.

Advisory Council.

Mr. van den Steenhoven) to work with Mr.. Redick.

ordinance establishing a Youth Advisory Council including students from
