A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATION OF THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH THE CALIFORNIA EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND TO APPLY
FOR FUTURE GRANTS
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica has applied for and received a Hazard
Mitigation Grant from the California Emergency Management Agency in an amount of
$18,750; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica also seeks to apply for additional grants
under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and Pre - disaster Mitigation Program from
the California Emergency Management Agency for disaster mitigation and recovery
funding; and
WHEREAS, the California Emergency Management Agency requires the City of
Santa Monica to designate an agent to execute the Hazard Mitigation Grant Agreement
and future -Want agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Santa Monica is designated as the
agent of the City of Santa Monica for the purpose of executing the Hazard Mitigation
Grant Agreement and to execute future grants from the California Emergency
Management Agency for disaster funding for a period of up to three (3) years from the
date of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
