A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
SETTING FEES FOR FILM PERMITS AND AMENDING OTHER FEES
WHEREAS, on February 28, 2012, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2393
(CCS), adding Chapter 6.110 to the Santa Monica Municipal Code, establishing film
permit requirements; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica Municipal Code Section 6.110.060 authorizes film
permit fees to be set by City Council resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish application fees for film permits
to facilitate filming activities in the City, and establish location fees for certain uses of
public property for filming by this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department conducted a fee study to determine
the amount of fees necessary to recover the City's administrative costs for issuing film
permits;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following fees for film permits are hereby established:

SECTION 2. Beginning July 1, 2012, and July 1 of each fiscal year thereafter, all
fees identified in Section 1 shall be administratively revised by a factor equal to the
difference in the Los Angeles- Riverside - Orange County Consumer Price Index for

Wage Earners and Clerical Workers for the 12 -month period February to February of
the prior fiscal year.
SECTION 3. Resolution No. 10404 CCS adopted June 23, 2009 is hereby
amended to revise the fee for Business License Processing as follows: The Business
License Processing feeds hereby set at $0.00 per business license application.
SECTION 4. Any applicable administrative fees to reimburse the City for the cost
of services provided by police officers, code enforcement officers, fire personnel, or
other City personnel will be determined in accordance with the applicable bargaining
unit Memorandum of Understanding.
SECTION 5. If there are any conflicts between the fees adopted in this
Resolution and any adopted prior resolution or schedule, the fees adopted through this
Resolution shall take precedence.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
