r-10665City Council Meeting March 27, 2012 Santa Monica, California RESOLUTION NUMBER 10665 (CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION COMMUNITY -BASED TRANSPORTATION PLANNING GRANT PROGRAM FOR FUNDING IN FISCAL YEAR 2012 -13 AND THE EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM WHEREAS, Caltrans has issued an invitation for grant applications to the Community -Based Transportation Planning Grant Program as part of the FY 12 -13 Transportation Planning Grant Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica, a municipal corporation, wishes to apply for and receive an allocation of funds in an amount not to exceed $300,000 from the program to plan improvements to Lincoln Boulevard. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City of Santa Monica shall submit to Caltrans an application to participate in the Community -Based Transportation Planning Grant Program in response to the invitation for applications for FY 12 -13, requesting a funding allocation in an amount up to $300,000 to conduct public outreach and conceptual streetscape design of Lincoln Boulevard, in support of the adopted Land Use and Circulation 1 Element vision for the boulevard and priorities for community quality of life, mobility and economic health. SECTION 2. If the application for funding is approved, the City of Santa Monica hereby agrees to use the Community -Based Transportation Planning Grant Program funds for eligible activities in the manner presented in the application as approved by Caltrans and in accordance with program Guidelines. SECTION 3. The City Manager, or Manager's designee is authorized to conduct all negotiations and to execute in the name of the City of Santa Monica the application, the Standard Agreement, and any and all other documents required by Caltrans for participation in the Grant Program, including any amendments thereto. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
