RESOLUTION NO. 10645 (CCS)
(CITY COUNCIL SERIES)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
SETTING FEES FOR NEW PROGRAMS OFFERED BY
RESOURCE RECOVERY & RECYCLING
WHEREAS; Chapter 2.72 of the Santa Monica Municipal Code authorizes the
setting of fees by resolution for municipal services that are provided to or benefit
individual users rather than the general public; and
.WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set the amount of fees for four new
service programs that will be available to individual users; and
WHEREAS, the Resource Recovery and Recycling Division conducted a fee
study to determine the amount of fees necessary to recover the City's costs for
providing the new service programs; and
WHEREAS, the amount of each fee set by this resolution does not exceed the
cost to provide the new service program.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The following fees for new service programs are effective upon the
effective date of Ordinance No. (CCS):
Residential Clean -A -Can Program
Annual Service (12 times per year) - $120
Quarterly Service (4 times per year) - $60
Semi - annual Service (2 times per year) - $30
Once a Year Service - $20
Additional Cans $10 per can, per cleaning
Kitchen Food Scrap Pails
Cost of pail plus $1.50 administrative fee
Enclosure and Pressure Washing Services
Hourly Rate - $88.31, pro -rata at 15 minute intervals
Event Rental Service (includes vehicle and staff for a minimum 2 hours and
maximum 4 hours)
Hourly Rate - $50
SECTION 2. Beginning July 1, 2012, and July 1 of each fiscal year thereafter, all
fees identified in Section 1 shall be administratively revised by a factor equal to the
difference in the Los Angeles- Riverside - Orange County Consumer price Index for Wage
Earners and Clerical Workers for the 12 month period February to February of the prior
fiscal year.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, which
shall be in full force and effect upon the effective date of Ordinance No.
(CCS).
