A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE
CITY OF SANTA MONICA ACCEPTING A BEQUEST
FROM THE ESTATE OF NAOMI BALAMUTH
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica is one of the beneficiaries of the
Estate of Naomi Balamuth, who passed away on April 28, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the terms of Ms. Balamuth's will provide for a gift in the
amount of $500 to the "Paramedic Unit of the City of Santa Monica" in
recognition of assistance they provided to her; and
WHEREAS, the executor of Ms. Balamuth's will is currently distributing
the assets of the Estate of Naomi Balamuth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the bequest on behalf of
the Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics and to use the gift to' further
the work of the Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City accepts the gift from the Estate of Naomi
Balamuth in accordance with the terms of her will. The City will use the funds
received to further the purposes and goals of the Santa Monica Fire
Department paramedics.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate and enter into any
agreements and execute documents related to the acceptance of funds from the Estate
of Naomi Balamuth.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
