A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DECLARING THAT THE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 1920
OCEAN WAY IS NO LONGER NEEDED FOR THE PURPOSE IT WAS ACQUIRED
NOR FOR ANY OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSE
WHEREAS, the property located at 1920 Ocean Way ( "Property ") was
bequeathed to the City of Santa Monica in July 1975; and
WHEREAS, Santa Monica Municipal Code (SMMC) Section 2.24.110
establishes requirements for all sales of real property, including public notices,
presentation of the bids to City Council, and City Council authority to accept or reject all
bids; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Government Code Sections 54220 to 54232
establish requirements for the disposition of surplus land owned by local agencies,
including but not limited to a local agency's responsibility to make written offers to sell
the property to various State, County and local entities and a local agency's right to sell
the property at fair market value;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City -owned property located at 1920 Ocean Way in Santa
Monica is no longer needed for any City public purpose and is therefore considered
surplus property;
SECTION 2. Before inviting bids for the sale of the property pursuant to
procedures outlined in SMMC Section 2.24.110, the City will comply with State of
California Government Code Section 54222 requirements.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution,
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
