Subject: Ordinance Amending Articles IV, VIII AND IX of the Santa Monica
Municipal Code Relating to Allocation of Responsibilities to the Building &
Fire Life Safety Commission and Publication of Notice of Vacancies
Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance reallocating board
and commission responsibilities, and authorize publishing of vacancies.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on November 22, 2011, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance amending Articles IV, VIII AND IX of the Santa Monica Municipal Code
relating to allocation of responsibilities to the Building & Fire Life Safety Commission.
The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption. Additionally, staff is
hereby requesting direction to publish notice of vacancies on the commission.
