A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
GERTBFYING THE FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
ON THE 2834 COLORADO AVENUE CREATIVE STUDIO PROJECT
WHEREAS, a Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report for the
2834 Colorado Avenue Creative Studio was issued on December 26, 2008; and
WHEREAS, a Notice of Completion of a Draft Environmental Impact Report was
published on November 20, 2009 in compliance with the California Environmental
Quality Act ahd the City of Santa Monica CEOA Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Draft Environmental impact Report was circulated fora 45-day
period which ended on January 3, 2010; and
WHEREAS, following circulation of the Final EIR, changes were made to the
project to increase its overall square footage, divide the building into two smaller
buildings; add ground Floor retail space and eliminate the child care facility; and
WHEREAS, additional environmental analysis was completed on the modified
project and it was found that the modified project did not result in additional significant
impacts or increases in the severity of previously identified significant impacts; therefore re-
circulation of the Final EIR was not necessary pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section
15088.5; and
WHEREAS, the Final EIR was published in June, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the contents of the Final
EIR in its decision-making process; and
WHEREAS, on July 26, 2011_ the City Council, as Lead City Agency, reviewed the
Final Environmental Impact Report;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council has reviewed and considered the information
contained in the Final Environmental Impact Report on the 2834 Colorado Avenue Project
("Final EIR") prior to acting on the project.
SECTION 2. The City Council certifies that the Final EIR for the project was
presented to the City Council, that the Final EIR for the project was completed in full
compliance with State law and City CEQA Guidelines, that there was adequate public

review of the Draft Environmental Impact Report, that it has considered all comments on
the Draft Environmental Impact Report and responses to comments, that the Final
Environmental Impact Report adequately discusses all significant environmental issues,
that the Final Environmental Impact Report reflects the independent judgement and
analysis of the City, and that the City Council has reviewed and considered the information
contained in the Final Environmental Impact Report in its decision-making process priorto
acting on the project.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
