ange Club of Santa t~Ionicae
The Exchange C o ant~ica desires to go on
record as sponsoring a movement trf ere t a Civic Auditorium for the
City of Santa iionica; and here y makes ha following recommendations:
That the building hav t o u ',or'ums:
1. A theater auditor' r the purpose of presenting
attract o s o theatrical nature, The
seatin c: y of this auditorium to be
r'~dete:zni the tune of erection, as
~,~ e_pgtion of the city is ever expanding,
2. A flat-fl o auditorium with ample space for com-
ity dances9 tennis courts, basket
~l courts, and any other snorts events
ceptable to the City,
3. That the building have facilities adequate to
handle the largest of conventions, such
as committee rooms of various sizes, kitohen
facilities' etc,
4. That a stage of modern design be placed between the
two auditoriums, tivhereby one stage will
serve both auditoriums,
5. That ample and well-lighted parking space be provided,
o, That the building be erected on the site provided in
the 2+?aster Plan of the Santa Konica Civic Center,
7a ^lhat the financing of the auditorium be determined by
existing conditions at the time of building,

Our Committee feels that such an auditorium will not only
handle the needs of our civic and fraternal organizations but
will be an inducement to similar organizations in neighborhing com-
munities to make use of the building¢
?~e are, confident that the auditorium can be run on a profit-
able basisp as exemplified by tha reports from the cities of Pasa-
dena and vlendale regarding their auditoriumsg attach hereto
photostatic copies o£ said reportsa
Therefore *rae feel that proper publieit~ue ted to our
business and „orofessional men, exeffiplify;~-,he,€a t that a
Givic Auditorium can be self-supnorting~and show'9~ profits should
gain their support and cooperation,. ,:' y.,, ~, '~'
It has come to our attention t~ a Monica has been
by-passed frequently as a conventio t because of inadequate
convention facilities, A Cla r 'va Auditorium would not only
mean dollars and cents but o h st mediums of advertising
for Banta i~onica,
Respectfully submitted h' day of March,l9/~0, at
