The loading bridge is a steel platform from which 50 lb. counter-
weights are attached and removed from curtains, stage settings,
etc. The present bridge, installed as part of the original con-
struction, is b5 or 70 feet above the stage and so close to the top
that the weights must be handled from a prone position, which is
both awkward and dangerous.
Our study of the situation indicates that it would be cheaper to
install a new bridge at a safer and more convenient level than to
lower the existing bridge.
The cost of the improvement is estimated at $2, 176. It is our
recommendation that the amount be appropriated from General
Fund Unappropriated Surplus to A/c 401-A-91 Improvements and
that the installation be made at once.
