Dear Mayor Minter and Council Members:
It is proposed to have an "Awards" banquet Tuesday, October 12,
19b5, at Civic Auditorium for the express purpose of recognizing
civic and business leaders who have made major contributions of
time and energy to construction of our Mall. The meeting will be
by invitation only, offering a gratuitous dinner, with a charge for
refreshments to partially defray costs of such a banquet.
The Chamber's Mall Promotion Committee respectfully requests
the following from City Council:
1. Use of the auditorium on the evening of October
12.
2. All fees to be waived -except cleaning charges.
This includes the bar and catering fees..
Various members of the Bay Area Restaurant Owners Association
will prepare the food and supervise the bar for this occasion. Ad-
ditional items such as napkins, plates, etc. , will also be donated
by local purveyors. Costs to be incurred will be for necessary
labor and other incidentals to cater the banquet.
