SUBJECT: Revised Classification Specifications
Introduction
This report requests approval of the attached revised classification
specifications for Pipefitter and Airport Security Guard.
Background
The classification specifications for Pipefitter and Airport Security
Guard were reviewed by Personnel in preparation for examinations to
fill vacant positions. The Pipefitter classification specification
has been revised to include reference to repairing and replacing sewer
laterals which is an occasional duty of the position and to include a
requirement to obtain a Class "2" drivers license within six months
of hire. The Airport. Security Guard classification specification has
been revised to delete reference to the fuelling operation that no long-
er involves City staff and to include collecting of tie-down fees and
logging aircraft in and out. The desirable experience for this classi-
fication will now include one year as a security guard.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council move to approve the attached revised
classification specifications.
