SUBJECT: Approval of Salary Adjustment for the Classification of
Supervising Data Entry Operator

This report requests adoption of a Resolution adjusting the salary for
Supervising Data Entry Operator.
Background
On request of the Data Processing Department, the present salary of the
Supervising Data Entry Operator was reviewed. This review was requested
due to the MEA January 1 negotiated increase. .The subordinate positions
now receive pay exceeding that of the supervisory position. Correction
of this inequity is necessary for retention and recruitment purposes.
Our review consisted of the collection of salary information for compar-
able positions with surrounding cities, and a comparison of internal
salary relationships between supervisory and subordinate positions. Based
on information collected, a salary adjustment from $1329 to $1435/Month
E-Step is appropriate.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution revising
the salary for Supervising Data Entry Operator.
