SUBJECT: Revised Classification Soecification: Police Lieutenant
Introduction
This report requests that Council move to adopt revised classification
specification for Police Lieutenant.
Background
As part of the Personnel Department's classification program, one
classification specification has been routinely updated to more
accurately reflect the qualifications desired for this position. As
the attached specification states, the experience desired for this
position is six years as a Police Officer, including at least one year
as a Sergeant. This is a change from the former class specification
which listed the desirable experience as being six years of police work,
including at least one year as a Sergeant. The Personnel Board approved
the revised specification at their February 8, 1982 meeting,.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council move to adopt the revised
classification specification for Police Lieutenant.
