Job Classification Specifications
Introduction
This report transmits proposed revisions in various
City job descriptions as well as new job specifications
as recommended by the Personnel Board.
Background
As part of the Personnel Division's job classification
revision program, one job specification has been
updated, and discriminatory titles and other non-job
related references to gender have been eliminated. The
title, Parking Meter Collector, has been changed to Senior
Parking Meter Collector to reflect an upgrading of the
position. The Budget Analyst is a new position in the
Finance Department involved in the preparation and
administration of the City's operating budget. The Senior
Coastal Planner and the Senior Economic Planner are new
positions which will supervise other planners to be hired
with grant funding for the Planning Division. The License
and Permit Supervisor is anew position which will direct
the new License Division, presently budgeted to be in the
Finance Department.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council adopt a motion ratifying
the referenced job descriptions.
