Subject: Retention of Assistant Parking Lot Supervisor
Introduction:
This report requests the retention of the position of Assistant
Parking Lot Supervisor until October 31, 1977.
Background:
The City Council approved the deletion of the Assistant Parking
Lot Supervisor in the 1977-78 Budget. The position is needed
to cover those times and areas of work which the Parking Lot
Supervisor does during his absence, and to allow the Parking Lot
Supervisor to function as a Section Head. The Section Head duties
will be transferred to the Business Manager on his appointment.
The recruitment and selection process for the Business Manager
will not be completed until October, 1977. The funds provided
for the Business Manager position will pay for the retention of
the Assistant Parking Lot Supervisor during the requested time.
There is no need to appropriate any additional funds.
Alternatives:
1. Authorize the retention of the Assistant Parking Lot Supervisor
position until October 31, 1977.
2. Deny the retention as requested.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends the retention of the Assistant Parking Lot Super-
visor position until October 31, 1977, at the salary schedule
established in the 1976-77 budget.
