SUBJECT: Resolution Clarifying SMPOA TTages
Background
Resolution 5345 (CCS) approved a pay raise of 5.75% for SMPOA
members effective July 1, 1979. That effective date was prior
to completion of negotiations with SMPOA. Resolution 5346
(CSS) approved the MOU with SMPOA that called for a 4% wage
increase above the June 30, 1979 salary level.
The effect of the attached resolution is to make it clear that
the 5.75% raise was effective only. through July 21, 1979 and
that the 4% raise in the SMPOA MOU became effective July 22
and was not an increment above the 5.75% raise. This resolution
effectively limits the 5.75% raise to those officers who were
at work from July 1, 1979 to July Z1, 1979 and to those who are
found to have legitimate sick leave for that period.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council amass the attached resolution clar-
ifying the sequence of Resolutions 5345 and 5346.
