SUBJECT: Approval of Salary Adjustment for the Classification
of Water Chemist

This report requests adoption of a Resolution adjusting the salary
for Water Chemist.
Background
On request of the Enterprises Managers, the present salary of Water
Chemist was reviewed. An increase in salary was requested based on
the Water Division's view that the duties of Water Chemist have
increased significantly since the last review of this classification.
Our review consisted of the collection of salary information for
comparable positions with surrounding agencies, and a comparison of
internal salary relationships between supervisory and subordinate
positions. Based on information collected, a salary adjustment from
$2110/mo. to $2211/month E-Step ($2377/month with PERS) is appropri-
ate.
Recommendation
It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution revising
the salary for Water Chemist.
