SUBJECT: Amendment to Civil Service Provisions of the
Santa Monica Municipal Code Necessary to
Implement Memoranda of Understanding
Introduction
This report transmits the attached ordinance,
providing for the regulation of the number of calendar days
of disability absence in the instance where an employee
receives the difference between disability payments pursuant
to the laorker's Compensation Act and full salary, by written
memoranda of understanding.
Background
The City Council requested the attached ordinance
at its meeting of February 28, 1978, The attached ordinance
amends Section 2104I(8) of the Municipal Code to provide that
the number of days during which an employee may receive the
difference between disability payments and full salary may
be regulated by written memoranda of understanding.
A copy of the previous staff report is attached
for information purposes.
