Disability Absence.
Introduction
This report transmits the attached ordinance for
second reading and adoption.
Background
At its meeting of May 23, 1978 the City Council
was presented an ordinance for adoption amending the Municipal
Code Civil Service Provisions necessary to implement
Memoranda of Understanding pertaining to regulation of disability
absence and disability payments pursuant to the Worker's
Compensation Act. At said meeting the City Council moved to
amend the ordinance to clarify regulatory provisions. At
its meeting of June 27, 1978 the Cifp Council held a;first
readng.and'publc hearing an_-the ordinance annexed hereto
containing the requested alterations.

Recommendation
It is respectfully recommended that the City
Council reintroduce the attached ordinance for second reading
and adoption.
