Introduction
The Southern California Edison Company has requested an extension
of time of approximately four months to complete undergrounding
*rrork on Broadway, for the reasons stated in their attached letter
dated January 31, 1977.
Background
On April 13, 1876, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 4733
designating Broadv~ay from 20th to 26th Streets as an Underground
Utility District. The resolution states that the project should
be completed by April 13, 1977.
Recommendation
Zt is recommended that the Council grant the request for extension
of time for completion until September 1, 1977.

Dear Stan,
On April 13, 1976, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 4733 designating Broadway from 20th to 26th Street
as an Underground Utility District. The resolution
states that the project should be completed by April 13,
1977.
After reviewing our manpower requirements for 1977,
in order to complete the Broadway project by April 13,
1977, considerable overtime by our construction forces
Twill be required. Therefore, I am requesting an ex-
tension be granted on the Broadway Rule 20A completion
date to September 1,.1977.
