SUBJECT: Undergroundingg of Utility Facilities - Addendum to
January 8, lg6g Report.
Subsequent. to the submission of my January 8,
lg6g report on Undergrounding of Utility Facilities, I
have been informed by the Fire Chief that there are
City fire alarm cables on certain of the overhead lines
recommended for undergrounding.
Accordingly, I have revised the Proposed
Priority List submitted with my January 8, lg6g report
to show the location and extent of the fire alarm cable
installations. The revised list is attached hereto,
You will note that both Stewart Street and
Montana Avenue, from 20th to 26th, are scheduled for
widening in the not too distant future. Considerable
saving taould accrue to both the utilities and the City
if the undergrounding would coincide with the street
widening work. Stewart Street's position in the proposed
priority list was set with this in mind. The remainder
of the proposed priorities are flexible but represent,
in my opinion, an equitable spread of available monies
throughout all areas of the City.
