SUBJECT: Piodernization of Street Lighting ~- Third and Fourth Streets - Vlilshire
to Colorado®
It is reoommendad that the City Council be requested to authorize
the Street Superintendent to initiate 1911 Aot proceedings for the mod~rniza-
tion of street lighting on Third Street and Fourth Street between VPilshire
Boulevard and Colorado Avenue.
A memo to you £rem the City Engineer dated June 6, 1952, includes
a description of the existing lights. The equipment installed twenty-three,
or more, years ago, as stated in the memo, has eraoks in the ecncrate cross-
arms which appear to have weakened the struct~zre to such an extent as to ba
in a dangerous condition.
The estimated cost to each 50 feet of frontage is approximately
y290®00® Improvements authorized under the provisions of the `~Impravement
Act of 1911` include street lighting and appurtenances. If the City Council
so desires it may initiate such proceedings. Property o~roners would be
adequately notified of the City Council's intentions by posting of the property
and notices mailad,by the City Clerk not less than tan {14) days prior to the
date of the hearing on the Resolution of Intsntiono
