Subject: Ordinance Amending Santa PQonica Municipal Code
Section 4204a and Adding Santa Monica Municipal
Code Section 360Ea.
At its meeting on June 23, 1981, the City Council authorized
the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance amending Santa Monica
Municipal Code Section 4204a to reduce the offense of drinking in
public from a misdemeanor to an infraction. In addition, in order
to ensure the ability to collect any fines lawfully imposed for
violation of this and other sections, Santa Monica Municipal Code
Section 3606a is being added.
RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended. that the accompanying Ordinance
be introduced for first reading.
