SUBJECT: Woodlawn Cemetery .. Fence between City and Mausoleum
Property, Block 11.
The Woodlawn Mausoleum Company currently is
constructing an addition to their existing Mausoleum in
Block 11. This addition, which is shown on the attached
print of Drawing Vo. 4021, is anticipated to require
approximately two years to complete. Immediately ad,~acent
on the northeast to the new construction is a portion of
Mausoleum property which will be used as a construction
yard throughout the construction of the Mausoleum addition,
and upon completion of said addition will remain unused
and unimproved property.
In order to eliminate the unsatisfactory appear-
ance of this area, it is recommended that a chain link
fence be constructed from the north corner of the Mausoleum
addition to Ivy Avenue, and thence southeasterly along Ivy
Avenue to a point 20~ from the existing Mausoleum building,
a total of 130 of fence.
This will leave a 20~ opening for access by the
Mausoleum contractor to the construction yard. This
proposed fence has been discussed with, and informally
approved by, the owner of the Woodlawn Mausoleum,
The estimated cost of this fence, per estimate by
the Santa Monica Fence Company, is $680 installed. It is
recommended that the Gity Council be requested to appropriate
this amount and authorize the installation of the above fence.
