At its meeting of August 15th, 1979, the City Council directed that the
question of sale of fireworks in 1980 be placed on the September 11, 1979
agenda. On September 11, 1979, the City Council requested that this item
be again held over until all Council seats were filled. The staff report
presented to the Council in August as well as ordinance and resolution
adopted by the City Council on May 8th, 1979, are attached for your
information.
Should the City Council choose to modify the ordinance or to discontinue
the sale of safe and sane Fireworks, the appropriate action would be to
direct the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for subsequent public
hearing.
